Farming to nitrates, biodiversity and climate expectations — compliance as a management skill, not a fright.
Farm Performance Measurement
5 credits
Measure what matters: outputs, costs and the KPIs that show whether the plan is working.
Work Practice
15 credits
Your second 150-hour placement, this time carrying management-level tasks and evidence.

Your 150-hour placement on an approved farm, with a learning diary and portfolio that count toward the award.

Level 5 + Level 6 together form the qualification referenced for succession schemes, herd numbers and young-farmer supports — and the clock on the young-farmer TAMS rate runs from qualification, so timing matters. See what it unlocks.
Want to keep going? Graduates can progress toward Level 7 and 8 degree programmes — agricultural science, agri-business, animal science, environmental science — at institutions including UCD, MTU, SETU, TU Dublin, ATU and DkIT. We’ll help with CAO and advanced-entry routes.
